I’ve heard someone say, “If you are bored in Bandon, you aren’t trying.” I believe this to be true in an absolute sense. From free activities to pay-to-participate ones, there is no shortage of things to do on our stretch of coastal Oregon. In 10 minutes, I can fill your annual calendar with some amazing activities in our area.
Take the free activities…from South Slough Estuary, Sunset Bay State Park, whale watching, swimming at Tenmile Lake, city parks, frisbee golf, real golf at Shorty’s, agate hunting, beach combing, fishing, 4th of July fireworks, tidepool discovery, several Music in the Park programs…there is no shortage of free things to do.
As far as pay-to-participate, another long list follows…Shore Acres, Junior Rangers, bike rentals, Bandon Wildlife Park, berry picking, no less than 10 local festivals, Alive After Five, Farm Trail, a myriad of 5k run opportunities, summer rec programs, swim lessons, skating at Coquille Community Center, bowling, movies, thrifting, Festival of Sail, deep sea fishing, and more.
Don’t let it slip that you are bored near Bandon!
